Its Okay to Not be Okay

🌧⛈️ Every Storm Runs Out of Rain

It's Okay to Not Be Okay

There are days when the weather seems to understand exactly how we're feeling.

This was one of those afternoons.

Two friends had set out for a walk along the coastline, hoping the fresh air might quiet the thoughts neither of them had quite found the words to share.

The sea had been calm when they arrived.

The sky bright.

The breeze gentle.

But somewhere beyond the horizon, the weather had already begun writing a different story.

Dark clouds slowly gathered.

The wind shifted.

The first drops of rain landed softly on the path.

Rather than rushing back to the car, they wandered towards an old wooden shelter overlooking the ocean.

They stood together in comfortable silence as the rain swept across the bay.

The waves grew restless.

The sky darkened.

The world seemed to pause.

After a while, one friend quietly whispered,

"I wish storms didn't happen."

The other smiled gently without taking their eyes off the sea.

"So do I sometimes."

A few moments passed before they continued.

"But have you ever noticed..."

"No storm has ever stayed?"

Neither spoke again.

The rain carried on falling.

The wind continued blowing.

And somehow, standing there together, the storm didn't feel quite so frightening anymore.

🌿 What Storms Have Always Known

Storms have travelled across the earth for as long as oceans have breathed and mountains have stood.

They arrive.

They change the landscape.

They water forests.

They fill rivers.

They clear the air.

Sometimes they leave behind broken branches.

Sometimes they leave behind new life.

But they never mistake themselves for forever.

Nature has never feared a storm because nature has always known something we often forget.

Every storm eventually moves on.

🌿 What It Quietly Reminded Us About Being Human

Life has storms too.

Sometimes they arrive suddenly.

A phone call.

A diagnosis.

A goodbye we never expected.

Other times they gather slowly.

Stress.

Loneliness.

Anxiety.

Grief.

Exhaustion.

Until one day we realise we've been standing beneath dark skies for longer than we imagined.

During those seasons it's easy to believe something has gone wrong.

That because we're struggling...

We're failing.

Perhaps you've felt that.

Perhaps you're feeling it today.

If you are...

Please know this.

There is nothing unusual about being human enough to hurt.

🌿 The Ancient Wisdom Hidden in the Rain

Storms don't apologise for arriving.

They don't ask permission to exist.

Neither do they pretend to be sunshine.

They simply move honestly through the season they were created for.

Perhaps we could offer ourselves that same grace.

Instead of pretending we're okay...

Perhaps we gently admit,

"Today is a difficult day."

Not forever.

Just today.

Sometimes healing begins the moment we stop arguing with the weather inside our hearts.

🌿 A Different Way to See Today

Maybe you don't need to force yourself to smile today.

Maybe you don't need to have all the answers.

Maybe you don't need to explain your sadness away.

Perhaps today simply asks you to be honest.

To rest if you're tired.

To cry if your heart needs to.

To talk if the silence has become too heavy.

To accept that difficult seasons are part of every meaningful life.

Not because you're weak.

Because you're wonderfully human.

🌿 A Question to Carry

As the rain slowly softened, one quiet question stayed with us.

If you knew this season would not last forever...

How gently might you treat yourself today?

Sometimes hope begins with believing that today's weather isn't tomorrow's forecast.

🌿 One Small Step Forward

If today feels heavy...

Don't ask yourself to conquer the whole storm.

Simply ask,

"What would help me feel a little more supported today?"

Perhaps it's calling someone you trust.

Taking a slow walk.

Making a warm cup of tea.

Watching the rain instead of fighting it.

Or simply whispering,

"It's okay that today feels hard."

Small acts of kindness often become the first rays of sunlight after difficult seasons.

Soulful Wisdom

Eventually the rain became lighter.

The clouds slowly drifted towards the horizon.

A narrow band of golden light appeared across the sea.

Nothing extraordinary had happened.

The storm hadn't disappeared in an instant.

The world hadn't suddenly become perfect.

It had simply continued doing what storms have always done.

Passing.

Perhaps that's the oldest wisdom the rain has been quietly offering since the beginning of time.

No feeling lasts forever.

No season stays the same.

No storm carries endless rain.

If today your heart feels heavy...

Be gentle with yourself.

You're not failing.

You're weathering a season.

And seasons, by their very nature, change.

Until then...

Find shelter when you need it.

Rest when you're tired.

Lean on those who care for you.

And trust this ancient truth.

Every storm...

Without exception...

Eventually runs out of rain. 🌧🌿
